Having a sore throat can be a really disturbing experience especially when it’s going on for days. At times, instead of it getting better as the days go by, they sometimes get worse. It’s a condition that is common across all age groups and almost everyone must have had it at one point in their lives or the other. In fact, for some people, it’s a condition they have to live with on periodic basis as it keeps coming back especially during particular times of the year when the weather is cold, dry and harsh.

Sore throat is a pretty normal experience and it normally should last only a few days if there are no other underlying physiological conditions causing it. But despite the fact that it’s always a short term experience, it’s always very unpleasant too as it could make people feel tired and weak, lose appetite, and some other symptoms like pain in the throat which is usually very unpleasant are some characteristics of sore throat. I need not add that the pain can be very annoying too as we all do a great deal every day. Imagine having to go through pains during each one of those swallows, not to talk of the inability to eat. Even your favorite meal!

The good news is that sore throats don’t have to weigh you down anymore as there are lots of remedies for it. This means that you don’t even need to go and see a doctor before your sore throat heals! And the best part? Most of these remedies are home remedies! Below are a few remedies you can try in order to soothe your sore throat.

1.     Gargling with warm salt water

This is probably the first thing you will hear most people say to you if you complain of sore throat, especially around old people. The truth is that they are actually very right. Warm salt water works very well against sore throats. The salt in the water helps with the inflammation in your throat and make it to shrink thereby giving you a relief. It washes away excess mucous and if you have a stuffy nose, it will help your stuffy nose to drain properly.

One cup of warm (not hot) water and half teaspoon of table salt will be enough. Pour the salt in the hot water, mix it with a clean spoon, and make sure the salt is well dissolved in the warm water. Gargle the warm water throughout the day. Just make sure the salt and water mixture is not more than stipulated so as not to worsen matters.

2.     Garlic!

I know this is going to sound repulsive considering garlic’s reputation for bad odors. Not everyone is a big fan of garlic, but if you want fast relief from your sore throat, you really need garlics. At least till the sore throat completely heals. Garlic contains allicin which is the active ingredient against sore throat. It acts very fast and it is very powerful too.

In order to make garlics useful for your sore throat, you can slowly chew two garlic or suck on them while biting them lightly in order to release the allicin. Whatever method you choose, allicin will be released from the garlic and your sore throat will be packing off! Simply suck on two garlics twice a day.

3.     Drink ginger

Ginger has a lot of pain relieving properties and it works excellently against cold too. Since most sore throats and cold commonly appear together, drinking ginger is a good way of combating the two! Ginger also boosts circulation, expels toxins and speeds up the healing process. Its anti-inflammatory properties will also help to relief the soreness in your throat.

All you will need is a two-inch long fresh ginger root, honey and 2-3 cups of water.

You need to Wash the ginger root really thoroughly, then you have to peel it. Slice it into really tiny pieces, then you place it on a cutting board and cover it with some wax paper. After that, crush it with anything you have that can be used for that purpose. I’m sure you will find something. The next thing is to boil your water boil for about 3 to 5 minutes. Then just pour it in cup with ginger and drink it. dont drink it too hot, that is never good for sore throat, so let be for few minutes until it has better temperature. You can also add some honey or sugar if you need, but I prefer it “natural”, without adding anything.

4.     Drink cinnamon

The truth is that you should avoid spicy foods when your throat hurts, but there are actually some spices that are handy when fighting the illness. One of them is ginger (which I already talked about) another one is cinnamon which is a home remedy that helps relieve some of the pain of a sore throat especially if it is the result of a cold. It is extremely high in anti-oxidants, and its aroma often times helps to open up the sinuses, which lessens the production of mucus and helps you breathe a little easier.

All you will need is: 1-2 cinnamon sticks, 1 and a half cups of boiling water and any herbal green tea of your choice. Honey could come in handy too.

Bring water to a boil and add the cinnamon. Boil for about 2-3 minutes, and then remove the cinnamon. Add your choice of herbal or green tea in the cinnamon water, drink, and enjoy!

There are lots of other home remedies that could be used against sore throat, some of them will be discussed later in the future. But on a final note, I will like to include one important thing that should be avoided when having sore throats and that is irritants! It may look like stating the obvious but some people are not aware of it.

Now you know what it takes to kick out sore throats, so next time you have one (I hope you don’t, but if you eventually do, or you actually have one now) just make use of these home remedies simply kick it out of your system! You can also drop comments to let us know which home remedy actually worked to combat your sore throat!

How To Get Rid Of Warts – 4 Best Cheap Home Warts Remedies

4 Best Cheap Home Warts-Remedies

Warts, is there any person who wouldn’t just hate them? They are ugly and sometimes and also quite painful, definetely something what you do not want to have on your body especially at places where they can be seen, but generally just everywhere. There are many methods how to get rid of them, some medical some home remedies and in this article you can find those that works the best. Here you will find only methods that are so popular and tried by some many people, that you can be absolutely sure they work.

What Are Warts?

First it is important to understand that there is not just one kind of warts, in fact there are around 60 different strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) which causes warts and there are also several different types.Warts are in fact benign tumors of human epidermis which are caused by HPV. Most common types are:

  • palmer warts – these are warts located on your palms
  • plantar warts – these are warts that appears on the bottom of your foot
  • flat warts – mostly you can find these flat warts on face and neck
  • genital warts – warts that appears on genitals and so can spread from person to person very easily through sex. Using a condom can help except many other sexually transmitted diseases against genital warts as well.

The best is of course if you never get warts, so prevention is the most important piece of the puzzle. Never share deodorants that touch the skin with anyone else, do not share soap, towels, socks and especially never share razors.  When you are at public places like sauna, swimming pool, gym locker room and any similar places, always wear some footwear. If you will do all this, then the chance you will ever see wart on your skin is very low.

Warts can spread very easily so if you already have one or more, do not ever touch it, because they can spread this way to another part of your body or you can even infect someone else. If you already did touch it, wash your hands immediately. Very cautious you should be especially if you are shaving around them, if you cut it it can spread even much easier than if you just touch it.

How Warts Look?

Usually they grow out of the skin in cylindrical columns. On thicker skin these columns fuse and are packed really tightly making the surface look like some mosaic. Wart (except the small, flat warts) usually have broken surface filled with tiny red or black dots. Many people do not know what it is and you can sometimes find quite crazy theories on the web, but those are just blood vessels – not seeds.

 Warts Do Not Have Roots

For some reason it is very popular that warts have some kind of roots. Maybe its because sometimes it is so hard to get rid of them that people belive they must have some deep roots and that is why they so often come back even when it seems you destroyed them completely.

The truth is that warts only in epidermis, which is the top layer of skin. When the wart grows deeper, it displaces the send layer of skin, the dermis, but does not grow into it. there are simply no roots, underside of warts are smooth.

Well, if you read this article, most likely you already have problem with warts, so lets take look at some methods how you can get rid of them, but its importnat to mention here that all people are different and there are also around 60 different strains of warts, so very likely there is no universal method. If you are lucky first method you try will work, if no, just continue with another.

1) Garlic

I think that the personal experience is always the best so that is the reason why I have decided to put this method on the first place.

This is method that helped me to get rid of warts easily, without any pain and quite fast. I love this method especially because it is so cheap, easy and without any pain.

You will need garlic and vinegar. Put cloves of garlic into vinegar and leave it for at least week (but it can be in vinegar for much longer) in fridge. After week you can start with treatment. Cut piece of garlic of same size as wart or slightly smaller, so it does not touch healthy skin and put it on the wart. Than put a band aid on it so the garlic cannot move. Garlic is really strong so it will burn anything it touches for longer time period and if it were touching your healthy skin, it could severly burn it, so be careful. You can leave it there just over night every day or you can wear the band aid with garlic under it even during day if it is possible.

After week or two it should kill the wart, the wart will fall of and after healing you should have normal skin at that place again. This helped me getting rid of ugly wart at my hand and I have also read many other success stories all over internet, however there are also plenty people to which it did not work. That is most likely, because there are so many kind of warts and it probably works only against some strains of HPV.

2) Salycilic Acid

Very common treatment of warts is salycilic acid, but unfortunately there still many people who says it does not work. Problem with salycilic acid is that it is very important to use it every day and use it right.

I have searched the web to find what is the best way how to use it. Well, there will be some pain. Best is to pare the warts first before applying the acid with pumice stone, scrub brush or blade. you must be extremely cautious by doing this and not let anything from warts touch any other part of your body or might soon find there another wart.

It is also great idea to soak the wart first in warm water, because soaking it makes it much easier to absorb the salycilic acid. Then apply the salycilic acid and let it dry. You always should protect surrounding healthy skin so the acid cannot touch it. If you use liquid form, then protect the surrounding skin with petroleum jelly. This acid you can find in several different products and also in different forms. Again, important is to use it really DAILY.

This is probably the most comfortable, safe and effective form of salycilic acid:

3) Freezing (Cryotherapy)

Also very popular, but unfortunately sometimes also quite painful way how to get rid of warts. Principle is in fact extremely simple. Freeze kills affected cells and blood vesssels that feed the wart, but it does not kill the HPV. HPV itself is actually killed by your own immune system. After some time the freeze is applied (usually by using liquid nitrogen – Like in Terminator 2 movie, but quite smaller amount), blister will form and fall off. This therapy is however succesful only in 60% of cases.

This is very popular product that uses freeze for wart removing:

Here is cheap version of this I have found at one internet forum by some Brye:

“BEST wart remedy I have found that is cheap and effective, I frequently get little tiny warts on my elbow and pinky finger. I think it has to do with working in a shop, I have found that buying dry ice (meijer sells it, few $$ a pound) and smashing the bag on the concrete to make small chunks of which you then wrap in a cloth or use thick gloves to pick up and then directly and carefully apply the ice directly to the the wart and push down hard, cheap and very effective and the same thing they do at the dermatologist except they use liquid nitrogen and charge a fortune.”

4) Duct Tape

It might soound weird, but there is in fact serious study from 2002 that says duct tape therapy is succesful in about 85% of cases. It does not have really be duct tape, normal adhesive tape should work also.

Wrap the wart completely with 3-4 layers of duct tape. It is important that the wrap is tight, but just not too much. Wear it for week and then remove it for like 12 hours. then reapet the process until the wart is gone.

It does not probably what duct tape will you choose, here is one good:
